For almost three years, BRAIN FRAME has simmered under the skin of our city: a rich, warm broth, regularly supplemented with new artists and weird ideas, deepening in flavor profile and nutritional value from its fetid, fertile inception to its highfaluting finale. BRAIN FRAME relentlessly, raucously flaunts the conventions of the comics medium through performance, interpretation, and multidisciplinary experimentation. You’re invited to a special peek into the thoughts and process behind the show.BRAIN FRAME: EXPLAINED is a special event for new and experienced audience members. This show is FREE and ALL AGES. Contents include:1) Lyra Hill, BRAIN FRAME founder, organizer, and emcee, delivers a humorous lecture on the origins and evolution of the show.2) Cartoonists perform their comics::: Hannah Chavez :::: Bela Shayevich :::: Lyra Hill ::
3) A lively Q&A with the audience, and finally an invitation to approach the performers and check out the equipment they used in the show.BRAIN FRAME: EXPLAINED is a part of the Chicago Zine Fest's Exhibition Day. Please come for the day and browse the Fest! Brain Frame will have a table where you may buy posters, prints, comics, and work by the performing cartoonists.
